Rohan Cooppan-Boyd

Education: Undergraduate at the University of Chicago pursuing joint MA/BA degrees Political Science and Comparative Human Development 

Personal Interests: Reading, short-form writing, attending house music and jazz shows, exploring new Chicago neighborhoods, and instructing at my university's student boxing club


Rohan is a current undergraduate student at the University of Chicago pursuing joint MA/BA degrees in, respectively, Political Science and Comparative Human Development. He has previously worked with the Psychedelic Science Funder's Collaborative, the New Politics Leadership Academy, and with UChicago professors on post-doctoral research in between attending undergraduate studies. At UChicago, Rohan is currently working on his Master's thesis which will explore the intergenerational shifts in the subculture of Chicago house music and the potential role of an increasingly digitized social landscape.

Outside of academics, Rohan is a student coach at the recently inaugurated UChicago Boxing club, a frequent attendee of the book salons put on by the Chicago Center for Contemporary Theory (3CT), and enjoys weekly classes at the Argentinian Tango club. 

In his free time, Rohan spends his time attending house shows, taking urban strolls around Chicago, and learning new styles of movement like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Pilates. He also enjoys hiking, the ocean, and playing foosball.
