Julia Eve Cordova is an undergraduate student studying Human Services and Community Justice and pursuing a Certificate in Legal Spanish Translation and Interpretation. She has previously worked with a local nonprofit organization addressing social justice issues such as immigration, environmental justice, and language access on Long Island. In her local community, she has successfully run voter outreach campaigns reaching 200,000 citizens and has established over 150 partnerships with local organizations, school clubs, businesses, and community leaders.
Julia is passionate about helping immigrant and LatinX communities in areas such as professional development, youth development, navigating American institutions, and how to advocate for themselves. She grew up with first-generation immigrant parents of Polish and Peruvian descent and witnessed through her work how LatinX and immigrant communities are underserved, marginalized, oppressed, and excluded.
In her free time, Julia loves to bake Alfajores (Peruvian Cookies), Crème brûlée, and other baked goods. She also enjoys weightlifting and trying new international foods.
