Alai is a recent graduate of the University of Chicago, where she earned a triple major in Global Studies, Public Policy, and Romance Languages & Literatures. She is passionate about addressing climate challenges and developing sustainable solutions for businesses and organizations. Alai’s research experience includes exploring financing mechanisms for energy transitions, with a focus on how developing countries can access multilateral climate funds to accelerate sustainable development.

She has also spent time as a Program Intern at She Should Run, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women to run for political office. In this role, Alai supported curriculum development and contributed to key programs aimed at inspiring women to pursue leadership roles.

During her time at UChicago, Alai conducted further environmental policy research for her thesis, focusing on the role of governments in promoting sustainability in Venezuela and Colombia, and evaluating the potential impact of multilateral climate funds on these countries' environmental governance. Additionally, Alai served as captain for the UChicago Varsity Women’s Soccer team and has also represented Venezuela in international soccer competitions.
