Myong Leigh is an independent consultant who served as a staff member of the San Francisco Unified School District for over twenty years, including fifteen years as its Deputy Superintendent of Policy and Operations.

At SFUSD, Myong oversaw the district’s business services, facilities, information technology, student nutrition, school enrollment, transportation, policy and planning and government relations teams. This role involved interaction and collaboration with numerous staff members in the district including all school sites and all central office departments. His work focused on subject areas including financial planning and resource allocation, strategic planning, school site-based academic decision-making and budgeting, student assignment and desegregation, collective bargaining and labor relations, capital facilities planning, and transportation. 

Prior to his work with SFUSD, Myong was the Budget Director for the District of Columbia Public Schools. Earlier in his career, he was a financial advisor to state and local governments on budgeting and capital facilities financing.

Myong serves on the boards of the Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Democratic Club and the Center for Asian American Media and has been an active volunteer for numerous school funding campaigns. He was also a member of the San Francisco Redistricting Task Force which updated the city and county’s supervisorial district boundaries based on the 2010 census. 

Myong holds an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
