Kimberly Wicoff is a seasoned leader with 20 years of proven experience in the nonprofit, government and corporate sectors. Her expertise includes strategic planning, program design and implementation, finance and operations, fundraising, and Board engagement. In 2018, Kimberly launched her consulting practice to share her passion for building impact drive organizations based on sound data, strategy and management principles.

From 2012-2017, Kimberly served as the Executive Director of the San Francisco Education Fund (Ed Fund), an organization which raises funds and recruits volunteers for San Francisco’s public schools. At the Ed Fund, Kimberly engaged the Board and staff in a strategic re-alignment process, focusing the organization on its core competencies, eliminating under-performing program areas and developing a data driven framework for connecting teacher grants and community volunteers to critical academic benchmarks. She coupled the strategic realignment with a fund development strategy to both retain existing and diversify into new funding sources to fuel the new vision. As part of that work she spearheaded the design of an earned revenue program that partnered local tech companies with schools, which in less than three years resulted in nearly 50 companies providing ~14,000 hours of service and $500,000+ in donations. She also launched a donor engagement program that retained over 95% of major donors and established a young professionals group that engaged 300+ new people in the Ed Fund’s work.

Prior to joining the Ed Fund, Kimberly was the Director of Knowledge and Innovation for Strive Together, a national nonprofit helping communities set up collective impact partnerships to improve education. In that role she oversaw all knowledge management functions including the development of curriculum, case studies, and field building tools. She led Strive’s direct strategic assistance efforts in multiple communities and managed Strive’s strategic assistance staff. Kimberly also spent 5 years in the San Francisco Mayor’s office as both the Director of Interagency Planning and the Deputy Director for the Communities of Opportunity initiative where she was responsible for coordinating a number of multi-agency initiatives and public-private partnerships in the areas of poverty and education. Kimberly launched her social sector career at the Bridgespan Group where she worked with nonprofits and foundations primarily in the education and civil rights domains to develop their strategies and business plans.

Kimberly holds a BA in Anthropology from Princeton University, an MBA from Stanford University and she serves as a trustee for the San Francisco Foundation. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, son and dog and together they enjoy hiking, biking and culinary adventures across the Bay Area.
